Northshore High School in Slidell, Louisiana is across the lake from New Orleans. They are a public school of about 1500 students . The students  chose Friends of Colombian Orphans as their nonprofit to support during their annual Fall fundraiser. We are the recipients of the money they raised: $1200!

Here is what they did for us during the last week of October:

  1. They held a bake sale during lunch Monday and Tuesday. The Student Ambassadors brought in baked goods and sold them to the student body after lunch.
  2. The students organized a red heart day. To participate, the boys paid 50 cents and received a red heart. The object of the game was for a girl to see how many red hearts she could collect from a guy. The winner received a Starbucks gift card.
  3. Halloween Dress-up: the principal graciously allowed the students  to collect $1 from everyone who dressed up for Halloween.

We are so touched and honored to have been your charity of choice! The money you raised pays for nearly TWO MONTHS of machine knitting instruction. It will touch the lives of 20 kids who live at Hogares Club Michin, an orphanage in Bogota, Colombia.

Thank you, gracias to everyone! Abrazos y besos a todos!!
